Portuguese National Committee at EMPACK in Porto On 18th and 19th October, more than 150 exhibitors and 4,000 visitors met at EMPACK in Porto, to discuss trends and developments in logistics. EMPACK is one of the most important logistics events in Portugal.
The Portuguese National Committee, together with the AIMMP, the Portuguese wood and furniture industry federation, presented EPAL’s load carriers and quality system. Licensees and a large number of users from industry and retail were welcomed to the exhibition stand. |

FachPack: a great success with Enterprise Lab At this year’s FachPack from 25th to 27th September, on the Gütegemeinschaft Paletten e.V. stand, the focus was on the new EPAL Enterprise Lab.
For the first time, live data from test pallets was shown on the exhibition stand, allowing for various parameters of the Euro pallet, such as temperature and location to be displayed. In addition, the iPal pallet was prominently displayed in two exploded models.
Along with many users from industry and the consumer goods sector, a delegation of Chinese licensees was welcomed to the stand. |

EPAL France: active in the fight against counterfeiters After the discovery of an increased number of counterfeit EPAL load carriers on the French market in recent months, EPAL France has reinforced the fight against counterfeiters in collaboration with Bureau Veritas. The first positive results have already been achieved.

Turkish National Committee’s workshop From 26th to 28th October, the Turkish National Committee, TEPAL, invited licensees and users from the logistics and retail sectors to a workshop in the Susesi Luxury Resort in Belek/Antalya.
Following presentations on the EPAL system, the setting up of a pallet exchange pool in Turkey and the fight against counterfeits and trademark piracy were addressed.
Lively discussions and many interesting conversations with workshop participants made for a successful event. |

EPAL Nederland presented EPAL at Transport & Logistics in Rotterdam From 6th to 8th November, the Dutch National Committee, EPAL Nederland, participated in the Transport & Logistics trade show in Rotterdam, in collaboration with the EPAL General Secretariat.
Alongside the classic EPAL load carriers, the new EPAL CP pallets were presented in a special area. Countless conversations with decision-makers from international users, press representatives and licensees, showed the strong interest in the EPAL system and proved this trade show to be a great success. |

EPAL at the General Assembly of the German Anti-Counterfeiting Association (APM) On 7th November 2018, the General Assembly of the German Anti-Counterfeiting Association (APM) took place in Bonn. The aim of APM is effective protection of intellectual property rights and to raise awareness of the importance of protection against product and trademark piracy.
Jens Lübbersmeyer, Technical Manager at EPAL General Secretariat, talked about the issue of counterfeiting of EPAL load carriers.
After some initial scepticism about the topic of pallets, participants developed a keen interest in EPAL products. Even during the lunch that followed, Jens Lübbersmeyer answered numerous detailed questions and was able to give representatives from differing sectors, a good understanding of the EPAL system using sample pallets on display. |

EPAL goes to SpeedCHAIN & SLOVOG Congress In November 2018, the National Committee of the Czech Republic and Slovakia appeared at two logistics events.
On 7th and 8th November, the National Committee was at SpeedCHAIN on the outskirts of Prague. A striking exhibition stand and sustainable give-aways made of wood resulted in a high visitor frequency. EPAL’s appearance was rounded off with the participation of the Managing Director, Milan Kovařík, in a panel discussion.
On 22nd November 2018, the National Committee took part for the first time in the 12th SLOVOG Congress at the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in Bratislava. In addition, a comprehensive information brochure was handed out to all participants of the event. Milan Kovařík gave a talk on the EPAL quality system and the future of the pallet in Industry 4.0. The keen interest was reflected in the many conversations that followed. |
